Ninety precent of adults over the age of sixty-five report that they would prefer to stay in their current home as they age. For them, staying independent is a huge asset. So if they have the ability to stay, with only just a few aids, supports and equipment, then it is achievable.

However, as years go by and care needs mount, we find ourselves faced with the fact that we can't raise our families, work our jobs and run to Mum and Dad's house three times a day.

Unfortunately, the ideal of aging in place is not for everyone. However difficult it is, you may need to consider nursing homes and retirement villages as well. Nursing homes are the answer, where they can get all the attention they need.
